Crate & Barrel Ornaments

I visited Crate & Barrel today in search for holiday thank-you gifts for our creative and production team.  I have always loved C&B and adored their holiday trinkets and gifts.  Like a kid in a candy store, I could not get enough of their holiday ornaments.  I love their high quality construction and of course stunning details and beautiful designs.  I'll be sure to post photos of my final gift assembly tomorrow, so don't forget to tune in!

I brought back a few photos from my field trip today ... enjoy!

I hope you love these as much as I did.

JCrew Girlie Girl

It's the little details that make an outfit.  I recently picked up a bunch of knits and tees from J.Crew and I especially adore this one with the peony rosettes.  The corsage makes an otherwise all American, plain Jane white-tee-and-jeans outfit sparkle & shine.

Embrace your inner girlie girl.

The Yellow Mini

I've had this yellow mini sitting in my closet for months.  I've envisioned wearing it with tube tops, racer backs, off-the-shoulders and sky high pumps for a warm summer night out.  Unfortunately, I always found myself reaching for something else when those nights rolled around.  And now, summer has come and gone and the yellow mini sits in my closet still.  This morning, I decided to add a splash of color to my work wardrobe -- do keep in mind our "Cali-casual" dress code included jeans, sweatshirts and flip flops.  Though mini's tend to be more "liberal", I wanted to add balance so that it was more of a subdued loudness.  So, I paired it with a conservative tuxedo shirt and a school girl cardigan.

Added black stockings and patent ankle boots for good measure.

Holiday Cards & Stocking Stuffers

With the holidays right around the corner (Thanksgiving is next week!), I find myself growing more curious about what this year's holidays will "look like" from the storefronts.  With the holidays being the single biggest make-or-break season for retailers and e-commerce companies, I'm paying full attention to what everyone's best-foot-forward looks like.

Everyone seems to be buzzing about holiday cards lately.  Consumer trends indicate that although we've seen a huge boom in electronic communication, the good old snail mail (card giving) has actually gained in its sentimental value.  I love cards and stationary of all sorts.  But, since I have no children, it seems slightly vain to send out cards featuring my own photo.  Therefore, I picked out my favorite stationary card design and chose to not submit a photo and had it printed as is.  This way, my cards will have a blank space for me to hand write a personal message.  Cards courtesy of Shutterfly.  Cheers!

I also volunteered to shop for goodie bags and I found this cute set from Crate & Barrel below.  I'm thinking of picking up reindeer cups and stuffing them with hot choco.  I'd really like to throw in a pair of cute mittens too, but I should probably keep it more gender neutral.

Today, I discovered Restoration Hardware -a traditionally sophisticated grown-up brand- offers over 300 stocking stuffers.  Three-hundred!  From toys to gifts for him and her, you have over 300 delightful gadgets to chose from.  My favorites are "Super Hero in a Box" (back-ordered) and "50 Best Excuses and Lies for Every Occasion".  It's reassuring to learn that even Grandpa [brands] have a sense of humor.

Prada Fall Handbags

I recently switched jobs and while preparing for the interviews, I realized my closet was sorely missing a good going-to-work handbag.  I don't work in fashion so my interview attire consists of the staple black-and-white palette and a pulled back do.  I hesitate that pairing my outfit with city-chic or slouchy hobos would come across too casual and had a very difficult time with choosing the right bag to go with my more corporate look.  Now that I've landed my new role, I most likely won't be needing an interview bag, but as I search for lost chapsticks and mobile earphones in the black hole that is the hobo, I began slowly crawling the web for a new, boxier, ladylike bag.

Though never a huge fan of Prada handbags, I find myself in love with 2 of their totes at once!

Prada Cervo Tote (L) and Prada Saffiano & Tessuto Tote (R)

The only uncertainty I have about the S & T tote is that the side of the tote is nylon.  I've always felt iffy about Prada's choice of nylon since the material seem overpriced!

Here is Miranda Kerr sporting the red version of the S& T tote beautifully
