Lancôme Hypnôse Drama Set

This Lancôme Hypnôse Drama Set from Nordstrom is the perfect holiday bundle for the bright-eyed drama loving girl.  It's only $29.50 (valued at $67) for a full-size Hypnôse mascara, eye-liner, mascara base and my favorite Bi-Facil Eye Makeup remover. This remover is the only one I use to remove stubborn waterproof mascara.

The best part of this gift set? The gorgeous pink bling eyelash curler!
I can't believe this entire set is going for under $30 that I had to share it here.  Look for it at your local Nordstrom.

AMA Best Dressed

The AMA was this weekend and we were excited to see the fashion range the music scene would bring.  Music awards tend to have a more casual air and musicians, in contrast to actors, tend to get more personal and daring with their gown choices.

The AMA this year was all about texture: lace, glitter, chiffon, feathers and a gilded ribcage (Nicki Minaj).  My two favorites were Fergie's royal blue mini and Miley Cyrus' Marchesa gown!

Fergie in her structured royal blue mini.
I love the strong shoulder cuffs, the sequined bodice and the gorgeous feathered edges.  She looks stunning in this hue and the best part of this dress is that it works on most body types, whether you're curvy or petite (add pumps!).

Miley's Marchesa gown also took my breath away.
Miley always manages something iridescently feminine on the red carpet - an impressive contrast from her everyday tomboy style. This mini is no different. The body conscious wrapped mini is an angelic white with light pink florals. And, wow, the back has a kimono styled bow with a dramatic train. Her sparkly Louboutins are perfection!

Oprah's Hope in a Jar

I love the Oprah Show and I'll really miss our girl chats when she goes off the air next May. Oprah recently unveiled part 1 of her Ultimate Favorite Things of 2010 (part 2 airs today) and some favorites that we share include

There were some other favorites that I haven't had the opportunity to try.  Most notably: the iPad, which Ms. Winfrey raves about.  She also gave away the brand new redesigned 2012 VW Beetle (sneak peek here) before it's even available!  As Oprah said: both women and men will want to drive this car!

Finally, you can purchase the Limited Oprah Edition directly on Philosophy's site starting from $38.

This Oprah edition features a vignette of Oprah when she was young (lol) on a festive glittery red box!

Philosophy created a commemorative, limited-edition hope in a jar moisturizer to honor 25 years of the oprah winfrey show. it comes in a dazzling box covered in sparkling red glitter and features a strong message of hope.

BCBG Pleated-Organza Bustier Dress

Very few companies still have holiday parties in this economy. My company isn't having a party this year, but our team is heading to Vegas for a grand conference with a Gala at the end to boot!  So I started looking for a dress for the Gala today and I came across this stunner. The pleated petal bodice, understated jeweled belt and layers of organza florals make this a shoo-in for any girlie girl.

Unfortunately, even with BCBG's Friends & Family 30% off, it's still a bit out of my reach.

Create beautifully feminine style with this flourishing dress that combines timeless design with textured finishes. Wear it with a satin heel and decorative cocktail rings to complete the gorgeous look.
  • Strapless. Sweetheart neckline. Pleated silk organza at bodice. Tiers of pleated organza all over skirt.
  • Pleated organza forms floral-shaped embellishments at skirt. Boning at bodice. Elastic belt with hook-and-bar closure at waist. Center back zipper with hook-and-eye closure. Removable bra straps included.

How about you?  Do you have a holiday party coming up and what will you be wearing?

    FCUK Fall Catalog

Now that the holidays are upon us (well, for retailers they've been "upon us" since July), my mailbox is filling up with at least ten of everyone's holiday best, a.k.a catalog, each week.  Yesterday, one caught my eye:  FCUK's mens campaign. They took a huge risk: a no-frills campaign that appeals to the most primitive of men. I was particularly entertained by their sense of humor and eclectic choice of model for the men's campaign, so I thought I'd share them here.

Below is the catalog cover, with captions reading,
    "THIS IS THE MAN."

    * double take *
Yes, he is holding up double octopuses.

Inside the fold was this spread with captions reading,
    "JACKET. WAXED. LIKE THE MUSTACHE."

Ah, a 'stacheWatson himself would be proud of.

"NATURE SHOULD HAVE MADE MORE OF THE EFFORT THIS MORNING."

    Finally, I leave you with,
"I WEAR BASTARD SON OF JUMPER AND SHIRT."

For more of FCUK's men's campaign, check it out here.

    Elle: Women in Hollywood

Elle's November issue focuses on the women of Hollywood. Interviews and photography includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Hilary Swank, Sophia Coppola and more.  I especially love Kate Hudson's dress on the cover. It's something we haven't seen this year and reminiscent of the summer we're leaving behind.

    Burberry: Structured Rouched

I've been sitting on the sidelines silently rooting for Burberry to make their big comeback. After all, there's something about Burberry that's so core to the preservation of being English. I always imagined myself (in Burberry) sipping tea with my pinkie up while being highly satirical in an old world accent. To own a piece of Burberry used to translate to owning a piece of the past and that little bit of English sass. And, although they're not quite there, the fashion house has been making progress towards restoring their brand and business.

With that said, I still can't help but gripe about their recent collection of handbags. Being a bag fiend (and on a mission for a new tote), I've scoured and scrutinized all the current collections asking, "Are -you- my next bag?". And Burberry came pretty close. Their new line of bags seemed low-key and versatile, with a casual personality, enough room to be street-ready, modern dark metal buckles and functional tote-to-shoulder-bag-to-messenger convertibility.

Below is a gorgeously shot ad from Burberry on its new line of bags
(this style comes in many different variations: check and non-check).

Also some nice variations of the same shape:

Medium Brit Quilted Leather Hobo Bag
$1095 (relatively well priced for an all-leather bag)

    Cotton Canvas Lowry Bag

    $1395 (semi pricey for a non-all-leather handbag)

When I visited these handbags in person, however, I was disappointed to discover that the handles of these bags were stiff - like metal-hanger stiff. The bags themselves were also stiff. This entire translation felt contradictory and uncomfortable. How could anything be "structured rouched"? Isn't this an oxymoron? I think this may be the dealbreaker for me.

    What do you think?

Today I saw a clutch version of the Proenza Schouler's PS1 satchel, the "it" bag of the season, on Barneys. But best of all: it's in yellow. What a delightful hue!  A yellow clutch - sure to spice up any outfit!

    Eziba

Overstock has recently launched their own private sale site, Eziba. The site's look and feel is a complete departure from their mother site (Overstock.com) and the Eziba brand appears to be more "premium".

If you haven't seen it yet, you can check it out here. You can log in with your existing Overstock account.

    Love the Way You Lie

Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan might seem like a strange match-up, but the intensity is undeniable in this new video by Rihannah & Eminem.

    Kate Spade Book Clutch

Kate Spade introduced their book clutch today and I love it!

The clutch is disguised as one of the covers of three great classics:
The Importance of Being Earnest, The Great Gatsby and Great Expectations.

    What an interesting conversation piece.
My favorite is Great Expectations -- I especially love the back:

    Blake: Fashion's New IT Girl

In addition to all the to-die-for outfits Blake Lively sports on the show Gossip Girl, she is completely raising the bar for her in-person appearances. Here's Blake's spin on a traditional white top / black bottoms outfit: high-waisted satin tapered trousers (impossible to pull off -or keep ironed- without mile-long legs), mod looking summer sandals and a structured top that... well, even the gentlemen would appreciate.
